Biochemistry - Protein purification
The Protein Purification Service Group offers support to the Institute's researchers in the following areas:
- Analytical and semi-preparative analysis of various biological molecules with UPLC/ HPLC/ FPLC using UV/mass and fluorescence spectroscopy
- All chromatographic methods are used (ion exchange, IMAC, gel filtration, affinity, HIC, reversed phase)
- Development and optimization of purification strategies for proteins of different origin (prokaryotic, eukaryotic, fusion and membrane proteins etc.) from cultivation to analysis
- protein biochemical methods (gel electrophoresis, immunoprecipitation, labeling of proteins, peptides and lipids, refolding of denatured proteins, enzymatic assays)
- Generation of monoclonal antibodies
The instrumental equipment includes (selection):
- UPLC system H-Class with MassSpec of the company Waters
- HPLC system Aquity-ARC of the company Waters
- ÄKTA-Purifier-FPLC system of the company GE
- Biacore X-100 from GE
