Residence Permit (“Aufenthaltserlaubnis”)

Citizens of non-EU/non-EFTA states need a visa/residence permit to work at our Institute. Usually, the entry research visa is valid for a few months up to one year. About three months before the visa expires, you should apply for a residence permit at the Landesamt für Immigration (LEA) in Berlin. HR always needs a copy of the valid research visa/residence permit.

The International Office provides assistance in the preparation of the necessary documents. If desired, the International Office will also submit the completed application to the Immigration Office.
